Week- #83 "I ratted him out for ratting me out"

Our District this last change! (evidently Elder Smith likes touching my face in both pictures.)

The last Zone picture in Republica.

This is a sewage pipe (shortcut) is was fun. It was over a river of poop....

Still a kid.

Snapped this pic because the airport was close to my area here in Ramos Arizpe. It will be fun to fly those bad boys.

Hey momma!
So I got the transfer notice today in the morning. I will be going to Saltillo again! WOO HOO, that actually really excites me because I wont get horribly fried in the northern heat, woof... I feel bad for Elder Miner up there in Acuña, or Elder Wiedmeier up there in Monclova haha. Can you believe that He finishes in 6 weeks! crazy huh!

Anyways I Will be going to Aurora 1 in Saltillo. It is supposedly one of the best wards in the mission. It is in the stake Valle de las Flores. That is where the president spends most of his time because he is from that stake. However I think that the most exciting thing about my transfer is my new companion. Elder Ogden. We are super good friends. It is going to be fun we are going to be opening an area too. I already called him and ratted him out for having ratted me out. He laughed pretty hard. Im super excited for what is coming.

mom. I promise that im obedient. 😇 We got hungry and he(Elder Ogden)didnt have any food. If we would have left it would have been breaking the ruled thats why it was delivery- haha

I have really come to love it here in Ramos Arizpe and it will be a little sad to leave here. Its going to be sad to leave Elder Hernandez aswell. I have really come to love him a lot and we had a lot of fun working hard this last transfer. The good thing is that he isnt too far away and I get to see him every month.

Super crazy that you guys will be going to all of those peoples home comings. Its crazy to think that everyone is going home.

I hope that you enjoyed your 2nd son's favorite holiday, the 4th of July is the best. I really do miss fireworks.

So I got to meet President Cahoon this week, He is an amazing man and as soon as he first entered the room you could tell that he is a man of God. I know that he was called to preside this mission for a reason. I hope that he can continue to adjust well and his wife too. She is also a really nice person. I feel bad because she is completely lost in Spanish. She will learn though.

I love you guys and Hope that you have a great week ( lighting off fireworks in memory of me)

Hey Dad!
So this week I got the transfer notice. I will be going to Saltillo again. WOO HOO! hahaha I will not get fried in the sumer heat in the north!
I will be going to Aurora 1 which is in the stake Valle de las Flores. It is actually the zone where the President usually is and where the APs are and all that stuff. And I have to say the best part of the change will be my companion, Elder Ogden! Im sure mom and his mom are friends but he is seriously one of my best friends here in the mission. Im pretty pumped to get to work with him!

Got to meet President Cahoon this week. When he entered the room you could feel the spirit really strong that was testifying that he is the right man for the job. He is a really great guy, you can really feel that he loves you already. HIs poor wife doesnt speak a lick of Spanish. And actually he is brushing up on his. He also served his mission in Bolivia, However he spent 21 months of his mission speaking a dialect that was up in the Altiplano. I told him that you served there and that you also ate those horrible feet potatoes. His wife overheard and started to bust up a little. You saw the smile on his face turn into a horrible rememberance of that food. hahah he laughed pretty hard. But he was in the altiplano for 21 months can you believe that?

Anyways just here packing up and saying goodbye to all of the awesome people that I had the opporitunity to meet here in Ramos Arizpe. Its sad that I am leaving, However I feel good with what I have done here. I will miss my brother Elder Hernandez as well, he has been an amazing companion that has taught me a lot. The funny thing is that his new companion is Elder Hernandez. another one that you guys have never heard of. We were laughing for a little while about that one and then I was teasing him saying that Mexicans needed to be more creative on names.

Im praying for You all and I love you

Week #80- last Zone Conference with President Rodriguez.

Last photo with President Rodriguez and his wife. After 3 years of serving as the Saltillo Mission President they is being released and moving on to a new chapter of their life. Elder Stockman gets very emotional when he talks about his mission president. He has so much love and respect and admiration for him he will always be in his heart.  He has been a huge blessing in Spencer' life.

Eating an ELOTE haha.

Last Leadership Conference with President, he invited all of his ex assistants that were still in the mission to be there.

Hey Momma!
Sounds like you guys are having a great time there on your summer vacations!
I cant believe that you guys ran into good old Zach! haha tell him that he should get a job at Kneaders hahah!
those donuts look rediculiously good, where are they from,?
Hey you went shooting that looks super fun! I didnt think that you liked guns!

So this week I am here Preparing our Zone Conference. it will be that last Zone Conference with President Rodriguez and we will actually be combining the 3 zones here in Saltillo to do it. We have to give a 1 and a half hour training to our zone and then the President will talk with all of us together. I am really excited because they gave us the theme of Chapter 2 from Preach my gospel and so we are going to be speaking about how Our daily study affects our misionary work and also help them to have more effective studies.

We were going to have 2 baptisms this weekend of Yuliana and of Wendy! we are super excited for them and that they will be making this first covenant with our Heavenly Father. Keep them in your prayers so that they can be happy and that they can get Baptized.

Im doing super great here in the area with Elder Hernandez. He is a great guy and a goof. We get along great and he is a super hard working missionary.
I love you and hope that you have a great week!
-Elder Stockman

Hey Dad! That weekly update always make me laugh.
Haha that you are being tight fisted with the air conditioning, where im at that doesnt even exist haha!
I think that I might enjoy that whole indoor climate a lot when I get home haha!
Its interesting to think that if Andrew isnt having as much success where he is then he can get up and move where he is working, but I dont really have that advantage. But I think that it is better the way that I have it because Im learning a lot more. Actually im pretty excited because we are going to be having 2 baptisms this week of Yuliana and of Wendy. We are super excited to help them get baptized and to help them make this first covenant with our Heavenly Father. Im super excited to see when the go down into the water. We are actually expecting to have 2 more baptisms in 2 or 3 weeks. Super Excited!!!

Abbie sent me a picture of her with some dude, I still don´t aprove....

Yeah I was actually thinking the same thing that I really do have to keep swimming when I get home to be able to get married or whatever. haha

I do miss the Myth Busters Marathons haha that is an interesting show, but Im ecxited to be here in the mission, I really cant say that I super miss anything from the world, I should say that I dont miss being part of the world.

So this week we have been preparing our zone conference with the President and it will be his last one. We will actually be combining the 3 zoes of Saltillo and it will be like 60 missionaries. I have come to really Love President and it wont be easy to see him go. But he deserves a nap or 2 haha
anyways I hope that you have a great week!

Week #79- Tall, red and handsome.

Elder Hernández and Elder Stockman.

Momma,

So I have to say that I really do like being back in a normal companionship with just one companion. At times I miss the trio, but It was definately necisary to learn and grow from. I have been getting along really well with Elder Hernández. He is a really funny guy. He is from Loma Bonita, Oaxaca. Its really close to Veracruz and so that is why he has an accent of somebody from Veracruz. haha Their accent is really obvious. Actually we have been good friends for a while now. We were in the CCM together and actually a while back he was in my district in Monclova. He is a super nice guy and he is very service oriented. We get along super great. Its funny because it is his first transfer as a zone leader so I have to show him the ropes a little bit you could say. But ihe is really animated and he is a quick learner.

So we are actually going to be having two baptisms this weekend. I am super excited because they are two little girls that we have been working with for a while now. their grandma is an active member of the church. Its always gratifying to be able to find those families where not everyone is a member of the church and to help them all get on the same page. We are excited and we are suer that the ward members are going to be helping them a lot as well.

I cant believe that Abbie graduated Highschool! that blows my mind that she is already that old. HAHa now she is an adult. Zach is also doing so great in school im super proud of that report card. WOW! tell him to keep on doing great! so does that mean that Zach will be going on to middle school right?! wow...

ahhh im still laughing about that picture of the president and the assistants, thats a classic that made me laugh pretty hard haha!
anyways love you and know that you are always in my prayers!
love,
-Elder Stockman

Hey dad!
Im really loving being back in a normal companionship with just one companion. It was definately a good experience to be in a trio but its the lords way that it is 2x2. haha. Needless to say I do miss my last companions.
We will be having our leadership conference this week so I will get to see Elder Villeda. Im super excited to see all of the guys again. We have formed like a brotherhood there in the leadership meetings and its good to see all of my friends again.
So Im really getting along great with Elder Hernández. He is super nice, very service oriented, and he is a hard worker. Its great to get to know a new companion but its different as well. Its his first transfer as a Zone Leader and were just here showing the ropes I guess you could say.

We are super excited because we are going to be baptizing 2 people this weekend. We have been working with these two little girls for a while now. They are Yuliana and Wendy. Their grandma is an active member and they basically live with her so they will have suppory from her. Its cool to be able to find those families where not everyone is a member and to help them get all on the same page. We are working with there parents aswell. ¡Ojala que se animen!

anyways I hope that you have a great week and that you could enjoy your vacations. You are in my prayers as always!

Week# 78- "I received my transfer to stay"

Zone meeting.

Hey momma!
So this week I recieved my transfer to stay! haha
I will be staying and both of my companions will be going to Piedras Negras. HOT!!
Actually Elder Villeda Will be going to be with Elder Wiedmeyer! haha
I will be staying but this time as a senior companion. Now all of the weight of the whole zone is on me!
i will be with a dear friend, He is Elder Hernandez. It is not the same one as before but he was in my district before. He actually arrived to the field with me and we have always gotten along super well.
There isnt much more exciting stuff about me but thats crazy to hear about the graduations and all of that stuff that is happening right now. (by the way I dont blame Zach because dancing sucks)

We have a lot of people that will be ready to get wet here soon! im excited and the zone looks really good! there is a lot of potential.

I invite you all to keep reading the scriptures daily, and to be faithful in your prayers.
Con Cariño
-Elder Stockman

Hey Dad!
So ive got some exciting news, I recieverd my transfer and I will be staying here! I will be with a good friend of mine Elder Hernandez. He isnt the same one as before and this time he doesnt speak English! haha
Actually they told me that my assignment has changes to Zone Leader 1. Which means that all of the weight of the zone is over my shoulders now. Im excited it will be fun!
We finally confirmed this weekend. The kid who got baptized a month ago his parents finally brought him. We thought that there wouldnt be any problem because thay are members and all that but you never now. That was a huge trial for us but it is over and I have learned from it. Ready fro what comes next.

I have come to love my companions and it is sad to see them go! They have both been shoipped out toi Piedras Negras and Elder Villeda is going to be with Elder Weidmeier. Super small world.

Its crazy to think that the world keeps on moving back at home. Now that everyone and their dog is graduating from onew thing or another. Its cool but it makes me sad! haha

I dont want to grow up and I dont have to haha!
anyways I love you a lot, have a great week!

Week -#74 I literally cried, I love President Rodrigues

Hola Mom!
this week was crazy busy. We are the only trio here in The mission so the assistants use us a lot for divisions. I went to Oceania with Elder Flores this week. It was a good experience to catch up with him from when we were in Guadalupe together. He said that he has seen a lot of growth and progress in me since like 4 months ago. So thats good. haha
I also had my last interview with President Rodriguez this week. I literally cried. He has been the best mission president that a man could ask for. I really hope that he continues having success in his like when he moves to Veracruz for his next assignment.
Im also excited that I get to prepare for the new mission president to come. Im sure that he is a great and inspired man. Im grateful for that leaders that God has put in my life and for all of the help that they have given me.

So I had a good week getting to know my companions and also getting to know the area. This week we will be doing some divisions witht the district leaders.
We should also be baptising this week and the next week so I am super excited about that.

Ramos Arizpe is a really cool place. Its so close to Saltillo but its so different. The people here have a small town type of an attitude even though its pretty big here. This week we struggled taking investigators to church because it was stake conference. The problem is that the stake conference was all the way in Saltillo and nobody wanted to go haha
But now that it is going to be back here in Ramos next week I am hoping that a lot more people go.

Ps.
I sold the 2 suits from when I came. I sold them to Elder Hall from Utah. They simply didnt fit me anymore and he needed them.
They were also way to heavy to be hauling around all the time. The third one was trashed, so it ended up in the garbage. haha.
Now I have 2

Anyways Im glad to hear from you. Have a great week!
love Elder Stockman

Wow Dad your Old. 28 years ago you came back from Bolivia. I cant beleive that!
Sounds like its a pretty crazy week back there at home. Im glad that im in Mexico.

SO this last week I had a blast getting to know my new companions, and getting to know the ward and the area. Its a really cool place in all senses of the word. There is a train that passes by close to the house like every 15 minutes. Its really fun! haha I have actually gotten used to it and now it doesnt wake me up at night.

This week I had my last interview with President Rodriguez. Its sad to think that he is leaving but im excited for what will come. He only has one transfer left and then in his last transfer he will do a goodbye type of thing or a ferewel i guess you would call it. He is excited. haha. He is going to continue working in the seminary and institute of the church in Veracruz. I realize that I will be home in just a little bit more than 6 months.

anyways I hope that you have a safe trip and that you enjoy the sacred grove. Love you

Week -#73 guess what... I bought 2 new suits.

Look what I found! Wooooo!

My new Companions (left to right) Elder Domiciano and Elder Villeda.
Elder Villeda and I are Zone leaders.

This Train????

Hey momma!
So its going pretty good here in Ramos Arizpe. Its been real fun to get to know Elder Villeda and Elder Domiciano. We find that our teaching together is actually pretty powerful. The Area is super cool! its a really great place and its a lot less hot than Acuña. Its one if coolest temperatures in the mission supposedly.
There are a lot of people here that we are teaching and we are expecting to have a couple more baptisms here. The members here help us a lot. They are really supportive and its a drastic difference from Acuña haha

I honestly cant believe that Abbie is graduating from Highschool.

I feel like the food here in Ramos Arizpe is a lot different. Its because in Acuña there was pure meat. I think that once in my three months there they gave me salad once. Here there is a lot more vegetables and it makes me feel better.

Oh by the way. I bought 2 new suits because it was a serious need. My suit was super sun stained and it was shredded from ware and tare. Thanks for having that money there to help out.
The people here are a lot different then my last area. but its cool and the majority of the people are pretty accepting.

Anyways I hope that you have a great week!
love
-Elder Stockman

Hey Dad,
So this week it was a long trip from Acuña to Saltillo. haha. The funny thing is that I had just went to Saltillo the week before. I was pretty wiped out at the beginning of the week. But I agree I dont want to see the inside of a bus for a while.

Thats crazy though, it seems like you are traveling a lot more than you did before. i hope that everything goes well fro you in Puerto Rico.
Hopefully that when you go to New York you can share the gospel with that person who you said. Its a great missionary opporotunity. Afterall us missionaries cant do much without the members.

I would be happy to share foreign travel notes with you one day. It will give you a kick. but the busses here are actually pretty modern tour buses. they arent the super crazy bus that you are imagining with chickens and goats and stuff. Those are the busses within the city. The ones from one city to another have reclinable chairs, and movies. haha

Cant believe that Abbie is going to graduate highschool. That blows my mind to think aswell that I graduated 2 years ago.

So far I am really loving the new area. Its a lot cooler than Acuña. its supposedly onw of the coolest places in the mission. I refer to cool as in temperature.

The area and the ward are super on fire. we are working really well with the members right now. I hope to see a lot of success this transfer. Republica is a really cool zone.

Anyways have a great week!
love you
-Elder Stockman
